Hi everyone,
I think an ancestor of mine, Henry Buggs d.o.b. 1860 went to a school called the Commercial Academy, Parish: Wrotham, District: Malling, Wrotham, Kent. Just out of interest I am trying to find info on the school. Have found a 3 line bit of info saying it was a schoolroom for 100 boys!
Have gone through most of the obvious sites on history of Wrotham, Malling etc., but can find nothing more.
Any advice appreciated.

This is a repeat message, I thought I was sending a reply to Doreen PERRY but after the message was sent it said it had gone to Doreen Buggs. So to be on the safe side I have sent it again via this board.
My G.Grandfather, Mr. Edward May, was the Headmaster of the Commercial Boarding and Day School., aka Commercial Academy, Borough Green, c. 1871. Henry Buggs was one of his pupils. I have a photo of the school, which eventually reverted back to private ownership called 'Foxbury' but was demolished in the 1990's due to being structurally unsound. I also have interesting information about the school.

Don't worry Jane - its one of the Idiosyncrasies’ of GR. A married woman ends up with 2 surnames - her maiden one, and her married one. This is probably what has happened in this case.

As long as Doreen is using the same email address as last year, GR will notify her that there is a message waiting for her. If she is able and willing, she ought to be able to get back to you.
