Well, still no joy. However I have found out recently (thanks to Shirley, Andrew and InspectorGreenPen) that you can order recent death certs without the date of death/registration! DOH. Never realised that even after all this time.

There is a brother (who did marry, again no offspring as far as I can see) who died in 1995, so have sent for the death cert.

Fingers crossed again!

I didn't know that either, but on Heir Hunters this week they got a recent death cert by going to the local office. Can you do it online?

Not arrived yet but hopefully any day now! Have in the meantime discovered her husband's death 1999, so if this cert doesn't help will send for that one.

I've contacted at least 6 very elderly rellies myself "out of the blue" and all have replied, delighted to have been remembered. One very very eldery relative did get her daughter to reply, so she's also been welcomed into the family again.
