Good morning support group! Yes, a lovely sunny day here. Thanks for checking in. Well, I am planning to order that death cert today. If no result from that, and WayneTracey still over-burdened, I shall look at doing some electoral register searching myself.
Watch this space!

Good morning Jan,

Just a thought, A lovely lady called Ginny helped me when looking up people on electoral register, perhaps she would be kind enough to help you:)

We have a lovely sunny day here in the west country, hope its the same for you.

Thanks again everyone! Well, the cert is sent for so fingers crossed. I have a feeling this might lead nowhere but having done so much I can't give up if there is so much as one stone left unturned. I am learning to to develop more patience!

Lynn, thanks for the suggestion but at the moment only WayneTracey seems to be doing lookups, and it seems is over-burdened with requests!

Regards

Morning Jan, fingers are crossed for you, if WayneTracey is the only one doing lookups i can fully understand her being over burdened!! i cant even imagine how many requests she must be doing:) lets hope its your turn very soon.

Hi there you lovely lot! Nice to see you haven't given up on me yet. Madmeg, I have decided to wait for the death cert before going down the electoral register route. Hopefully will be here this week.
Thanks again for hanging on in there!

Good morning Jan,
I was thinking this morning! do you only work on one side of your family tree? so waiting for the death certificate gives you time to work on another part of your tree etc, or you are so busy with it all that the wait isnt so bad?
My friends and i work so differently whilst doing our tree's, i have just had a couple of weeks off from doing my tree as i was going round in circles, but decided to do my husbands to give me a change! its worked! i am back on mine :)) See you tomorrow.

HI Lynn.
I have pretty much done all my and my husband's trees! The ainm of this is re-ubniting the Powell family, this line being the missing link.
Thanks for popping in.

Hi Jan,

You have done so well to have covered two tree's, I have found family tree research to be both frustrating and amazing, and continue to learn as i go:) Do you always send off for the certificate's of each set of grandparents etc? so far i have ordered the certs for my direct line family, but not for siblings etc as i thought this would be a very expensive thing to do as my family seem to have a lot of children per marriage lol.
Will pop in tomorrow:)

Hello all.

Well, the death cert has arrived - registered by the wife, no surprised there, and same address as on marriage cert!!! Curses.
A kind member on here has checked the electoral register for me however, and while he cannot find his wife, has found 2 Powell families on the same street, so I shall go for it and write to them. A suggestion from him has made me think - I should pursue his widow's family (so to speak, a bit stalker-like there!) as they might know something.

Does anyone think it would be weird to write to the occupant of the address on the cert??

Onward and upward.

Jan
