hello
several of my ancestors were apparently christened at St Martin in the Fields, Middlesex according to the IGI.

Are these parish register records ONLINE that i can search? or should I head off to my nearest LDS church and order them??

thank you for any help and advice
vanessa :-)

They are probably available on Ancestry. If you ask for lookups on the Find Ancestors board someone will be able to give you the data.

Ancestry have St Martin in the Fields (Westminster)

Marriage and banns 1800-1834
Baptisms 1813-1856.

Holdings by Westminster city Council Archives can be found here, but there doesn't seem to be a link from the main site to enable online searches.

hi Susan

these are the people that I would love to see in a parish register...

William Eversfield Manley bap 22/11/1846 St martin in the fields.
john William Manley and Betsey Ware Eversfield married 09 12 1844 st martin.
john william manley bap 03 09 1815 st martin
john Christian manley bap 28/04//799 born to John and Ann. he died in 1844 and the death was registered there, so maybe he was married there too - spouse probably Louisa.

thanks

The 1844 marriage isn't among the Parish records on Ancestry

Kense

Kense Report 20 Dec 2011 08:22

The images available on Ancestry for marriage go from 1800-1834 with some years missing and the baptisms from 1813-1835 and 1848-1856.

hi everyone
thanks so much for all your information and your kindness in sourcing registers for me.

may I beg one more look-up???

John Christian Manley married Louisa.

John was christened in 1779 so may have married prior to the 1800's and thus won't be on the ancestry records. the first child baptised (that I can find ) was bap in 1813 (but then that's when the records go from on ancestry so he may have had numerous other children prior to this).
.
his children were baptised in St Martin in the Fields, so I have made a sweeping assumption(Yeah, I know.....) that he may have been married there.
he married Sarah Thompson in 1822 (at St Giles), and was a widow then.

thank you again everyone
vanessa

As it isn't on Ancestry, the only other place to look on line is the IGI, which you can access yourself..........

Are you now saying that you have an Ancestry sub?
