If you have FMP subs use the same login on original 1911 site to view full image/s

Joy Report 4 Jan 2012 08:25

The column has been revealed in http://www.1911census.co.uk/
but not yet in find my past nor in ancestry; I have not tried the genealogist nor genes reunited sites as I have not used them for historical records.

I can only suggest that removal of the blanking isn't automatic and sites hosting the images will need to run some sort of program across each image to to modify them before we can see the information.

I suppose we need to wait to hear what they have to say on the subject.

I cannot see it on Ancestry

Others say they cannot see it on FMP or Genes

I can see it on 1911Census ............ but I no longer have any credit with them. Because they save the images, I was able to check pages that I had previously paid for.

So are you saying you cannot see it on FMP,Ancestry or Genes Sylv?

I have never mastered the 1911 site and I am not going to pay again when I have two sites already paid for.

I just want to see if I have any lunitics in my family :-D

The site 1911census.org.uk may be powered by fmp, but they are still separate sites

In case you didn't know, the 1911 Census was first released on the 1911census.org.uk under the auspices of the British Government. The Government paid for the digitization, and it was the only site on which you could access the 1911 for about 6 months (so they coudl recoup some of the cost), before FMP got access.

FMP used the same digitization, but developed their own search engine .................... the search engine on 1911Census is much better, and that is why many of us still use that site.

Many people who have a sub with fmp will do a free search on 1911 to find their ancestor, and then use the information from that to look at the record on fmp ............... especially if they have been transcribed or indexed wrongly.

It may in fact work out cheaper to buy credits on 1911Census, than to pay the extra sub on fmp.

One other advantage of the 1911 site is that any transcripts or household records that you have bought are stored permanently on the site ..... this means that that record that you looked at 2 years ago and decided was not yours, but now you have some further information, is still there, and can be looked at again and again, without having to pay again and again.

As you can see, the uncovering was done very soon after midnight Jan 4 UK time ............ or about 4-5 hours ago.

today is the 4th Jan just had a look in on FMP 1911C looks the same to me..............or is there a specific time i'm in Aust. its 2.20pm

One thing that annoys me is the site 1911Census powered by FMP why is it those of us who have a Sub with FMP cannot view the 1911Census site unless we take out another Sub. & why would you.

All was supposed to be revealed on the sites, today 4 Jan.....you were a little too early!

On one viewed image on FMP, and one of the saved ones on 1911census.co.uk, the disability column is visible..........although on the ones looked at, they seem fit and healthy.
