Hi Guys

I'm having major problems with the website. Every time i add someone new it is uploading the people twice and im also finding that adding Children to parents it's only attaching them to one person (and Yes I am Clicking on the Part for both parents)

Has anyone else come accross this today?

The new tree is not and never has been fit for purpose since it was launched

Use the old tree and report the faults to GR support

The old tree was fantastic, Since they changed it, it has become a nightmare to use.

You can still use the old tree,

Hover your mouse over Family Tree and a drop down box will give the option, click on "use old tree"

When will GR realise that few members want to use the new tree?

I'd like to know how long the old tree will be here - because I'll be going with it!

My membership is due for renewal in early August, and I don't want to renew then have the plug pulled soon after.

Just seen the post at 15:38 yesterday - seems to be the same problem that I have posted today on 'The New Tree' thread

I've had problems too. The new tree is also sooooo slow to load each branch. It is driving me mad. The big worry is GR will sooner or later remove the old tree facility just like familysearch removed their old search facility. Then we will really be sreaming......but are GR listening? :-(

Hmmm, nothing's working properly, I've just read another thread where everyone's complaining of getting the purple error message etc etc.....because, guess what?
THey're playing around with the site again.....

GR have removed the old tree facility today so members are forced to use the new version,

however they do appear to be trying to sort it out, so make sure you send any feedback to their support team in the hope that it will eventually work without errors

I can't hold my breath any longer. Blue doesn't suit me, especially as a face colour

Not renewing my membership

Please bring back the old tree for us 'oldies'. We are not equipped for all this new-fangled stuff. Can't make head or tail of the new tree and still have hundreds of names to add! Won't be doing it though. Will write it out instead.

Scozz, I'm not a lover of how GR have acted in the past however they have now introduced a beta site as i had suggested in the past.

They would have been better to leave the old tree on this their main site and then just use the beta site to develop the new tree before launching it on the main site,

But we are where we are and at least now that they have the beta site it would be better if as many people as possible send feedback as possible both on the beta and the main site,

without the feedback the development team will not no what and where the problems are,

Edit, for those who would still want GR to keep the option of using the old tree their is no point posting on the boards unless you follow up your request by contacting GR support with your request

We did fully test this before it was released, but if you do find any bugs then please send the details to our customer support team - [email protected]. If you just want to send in feedback about what you don't like then please send it to me at [email protected]. I'd be keen to hear what parts of the tree you don't like and why. if you have any suggestions as to what we could do better then please let me know. I will be passing all feedback on to the rest of the Genes team and the tree team.

The new Tree does not work!!! It loads new names twice,Three & Four times in a row, When you also add a Child to a family, it only attaches the child to one parent.

I use Genes as my Primary Tree and I keep all of my notes and refferences on here, I also use Ancestry & Find my past, but I am now feeling let down by the site as it takes up so much of my time to correct "Genes" Mistakes.

As Marjorie said....If it's not broke, then don't fix it.

yep - i added 8 siblings - who then morphed into 24 - and their gt grandparents disappeared - will not be doing anything for now with this damned awful new tree.

Have you worked out how to get back from tree to home page?



This really has to be looked at........

When you are on the home page and click on Family tree, The tree opens in another window separate to the home page,

So the home page is still their and when you close the window with your tree, you should still see the homepage,

you can change between the two by using the minimize - button top right corner of your browser

depending on your operating system restoring the minimized page can differ

I had problems with the new tree, I then started to use Google Chrome and it is now working OK.

The new tree is simply not working.
I'm getting replicating people
I'm losing data all together
Sections of my tree are just disappearing, only to reappear later
Today I searched for my own name - it couldn't find me!
I'm so worried that I am going to lose years of hard research that I'm backing up to GEDCOM and keeping local copies of my data in family tree builder http://www.myheritage.com/family-tree-builder
If this isn't sorted soon, I'm going to migrate everything elsewhere and demand a refund of my money.
I HAVE LOST ALL CONFIDENCE IN GENES REUNITED :-|
