My OH grandmothers brother died WW1 and we have the cert he wasn't killed in battle but died of fever, When I tried to "own" him on the CWGC site they made it impossible cos we dont have his birth cert having been born in Ireland . I have census from when the family was in the UK but they wont accept that

Sorry Reggie - didn't read all of your posts. This actually might be a relative of the family called Mudd that I used to know as Dalton Street is the next street to where I used to live and families often moved around to streets near to each other.

I have sent a message to someone on Genes who I think may have the soldier named G.L.B. Mudd in their tree.

This caught my eye because I used to live in Hartlepool and lived in the same street as a family called Mudd.

I regularly visit Stranton Cemetery in Hartlepool (it's where a lot of my relations are buried) and it's a lovely place. The lady in charge of the cemetery office is really helpful and has spent a lot of her own time computerising their records.

I think this is the soldier in the 1911 census:-
