I'm looking for the parent's of Thomas Lidstone (Husband of Mabel Emily Bray and father of Norman John & Albert Lidstone) born in 1873.

In the 1911 census it shows that he was born in Galmpton, Devon but in the birth records there are 2 Thomas Lidstones.

I have been looking through the census but all i can see is Thomas Lidstone born and living in Kingsbridge or Plymouth but as mentioned before Thomas Lidstone was in Brixham, Devon in 1911 and married his wife in Totnes, Devon and as far as i know they are all from that area.

Can anyone with more knowledge on tracing family histories help??

Yeah i saw that one but it doesn't match the Thomas Lidstone i'm looking for as his census says he was born in (or around) 1873.

I think you need to buy the marriage certificate which would hopefully give his father's name and occupation. The marriage record definitely has his middle name as George.

According to a tree on Ancestry Mabel Emily Bray married Harry Sweetland.

The 1911 census says they have been married for 8 years so could this be thier marriage and he had dropped his first name??

If you buy the birth cert it will tell you his mothers maiden name then you can be sure who Thomas married.

Another interesting thing is that on the 1911 census it says Thomas had 4 children and 4 children still living so he must have been married before?
