Sorry guys - just got in after a long day on the road. Brief review seems to confirm that my fears were true and he didn't have the father I had assumed. Will look a bit closer at your responses in morning. |

Paul, can I just ask how you know he was born in Lakenheath (Suffolk) ? There is a baptism on Family search in 1793, mother Sarah - can't see anything else right now. |

I am happy that the above is my ggggfather but by following another tree I believe I have followed a wrong line going back. A brief flirtation with a free trial on Ancestry has me worried, based on the fact that most of the other trees I looked at show his mother as being unmarried. Her name was Sarah Docking b. 22/2/1758 Lakenheath. |
