FindMyPast has some Merchant Navy Records. I have one for my father from FMP which has a photo of him and a list of the ships he served on. This listing is for 1919-1920 although I believe he was in the Merchant Navy during the war years. Was surprised to find this as I understood that most Merchant Navy Records had been destroyed.

Sorry I cannot check for you as I do not have an FMP sub.

Not sure where you've been looking, but Ancestry only has Army records.

Merchant Navy is not classed as military.........

Michael, in case you aren't aware, sadly only about 30% of WW1 records have survived, so you might not find anything else.

ADDED I imagine it is WW1 not WW2 you mean?

i am trying to find my grandfather war record he was william john young born 1895, he served in the second world war in the mechant navy have found one but thats nothim any help from you good people will be gratfully recieved. :-) :-) :-) :-)
