There is a World Naval Ships site I put in the name of my uncles ship and it came up with a thread and a useful contact which gave me some info - might be worth a try .

Malcolm

Perhaps other records from WW2. The IWM do not have service records.

"No WW2 records are available except by purchasing them..............at a cost of £30.00"

My sister in Canada has traced many WWII records through various sources including the Imperial War Museum, London who were extremely helpful, punctual and charged her nothing at all for their assistance.

Have a look on the National Archive site

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/records/looking-for-person%5Cdefault.htm

WW2 personal records aren't on the site as the person may still be living. Follow the links from the appropriate page for info on how to order them.

You can't, I'm afraid

No WW2 records are available except by purchasing them..............at a cost of £30.00

This sounds familiar.............is there another post?

As you seem to know very little about this man, your chances of being allowed to have his records are not good..........you'd have to prove that he is dead,

Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help? Would anyone know where I could look up WW2 Navy Records of a George Campbell b 1925/26 from Newcastle? Also, crew lists of men who were on the submarines/ships? Any information very much appreciated. Many Thanks

Nicola :-)
