in 1928-9 unemployed miners & and labourers left liverpool on board the liner "regina" to seek employment with the canadian government and to assist in bringing in their harvest hence the name "the-harvesters" is anyone out there interested in this expedition having lost contact with members of their family i am seeking anyone who has amassed any info on this venture many men were from the north-east of england [benwell - byker - s/shields] also any info on any return voyages of these men would be of a great help norman j |
