Malcolm Report 26 Oct 2012 19:45

I have come across a relative who died in 1957 subject of manslaughter.
How can I find more information of circumstances.

Ivy Report 26 Oct 2012 19:53

Newspapers are the best source of information for this - inquest records and court proceedings are less likely to be accessible or even retained.

Andysmum Report 26 Oct 2012 20:56

Have you got the death certificate? That will certainly give you more information about the actual cause of death.

Malcolm Report 26 Oct 2012 22:38

Thanks Ivy I will try local newspaper back issues at library I guess, I do have copy of death certificate Andysmum which gives cause of death as fractured skull but I would like to know under what circumstances and where incident happened,

DazedConfused Report 27 Oct 2012 10:58

As you know the date and area of death try the local newspapers, these type of stories were their bread & butter.

Start from the date of his death and if you are lucky the inquest may also have been covered.

SylviaInCanada Report 31 Oct 2012 04:09

have you tried googling his name????
