Yes I can see that on Free BMD.

However, I cant see any marriage for your grandfather Anthony.Have you any idea if he was actually married and if so where?

Denburybob Report 7 Nov 2012 20:13

He may have been widowed after the birth of the first two children, and re-married. Have you looked for a death for the first wife? Bob

Have you checked that Ethel had not been married before and Purvis was her married name from 1st marriage.

You have not given any dates, but it could be she was widowed during WW2?

Ethel married Alexander Kane in 1913 in Co. Durham and had a son Alexander in 1914. Her maiden name was Purvis, my grand mother ran away from her 1st husband because he was a very violent man. There was no trace of her for 20 years, untill she had her 1st daughter Ethel in 1932, Lavina in 1934, and my dad in 1939 with my grandad Anthony. She died in 1955 I have her death cert named as Ethel Mc Keeganey

Yes patchem that is my grandfarther thank you, have been unable to find him in the 1911 census :-D And that is was his death in 1957 sadly he died before I was born, the Mc Keeganey family have been very difficult to trace due to surname changing in every census.
