midlandshistoricaldata - lookup offer

I have succumbed and taken out a 3-month sub.

I might live to regret this(!!), but if anybody wants a lookup let me know. If you look at the site you can see what is available - it is far from exhaustive, but for selected electoral registers it's good as you can search by name as well as address. I have even found my parents 1960!

I am pretty new to this site so no guarantees!

Hi Jan

Thank you for the offer of a lookup.

Could you check out Geo Edwin Searle Crews please?

There is defo something for him, probably at a workhouse.

Might take a punt on a sub if looks useful.

Thank you

Andy

Right, got it. Comes under Kelly's directory for West Bromwich (Staffs) 1936. You are right - it says:

'Crews Geo. Edwin Searle, master of the institution, Hallam St. TN004'

Hi Jan

Thank you for the info. Ties in nicely with what else I know of his movements. Interesting its still being referred to as an institution when the workhouse system stopped in 1930 and became a hospital.

Jan remind me to tell you off on Friday :-D :-D :-D

I'm going to have to put this on my list of wants in the new year.

Will be my incentive to sort out this house.

No sign of Mr L I take it?

Sheila, this is the wrong place to ask this - you need to start another thread on the find ancestors board..
When you do, put all the info from the marriage cert - her father's name and occupation, address if it's there, names of witnesses, spouse.
Not on here though!

Hi Sheila.
Not upset in the slightest, just not sure I can use that site to help.
Start a new thread, put everything you have and what you wish to find out (it's not entirely clear from what you have put), and I am sure people will help. Including me, if I can.
If you could delete all postings on here that would be good.
