Any one able to assist?

Looking for ancestors of Alfreda J. Frearson b. 1919 Paddington., England

Have looked on major databases inc. FMP. Second pair of eyes appreciated.

Unable to read transcription on free bmd for mothers maiden name.

It's certainly not clear! My guess would be South.

EDIT: There is a tree on Ancestry with this couple - Louisa's surname listed as Osmond.

seems you may have to buy a cert either the birth cert which will give mums name too or her marriage cert for her dads name

Its post WW1 so its possible her mum had been married before which is why you not finding a marriage for Frearson/South

I disagree with your description of 'brick wall'.
All you have to do is to buy the birth certificate - a brick wall is when there appears to be no birth certificate.
How did you arrive at her?

On Free Births on Genes you can view a copy of the original, which is typed, and the mother's maiden name is quite clearly South.

It is the March Qtr. 1919, Paddington 1a 57.

EDIT I have just had a look at the FreeBMD version and agree it is more or less unreadable. Have a look at the same page on Genes. It is much better.
