Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 25 Nov 2012 14:28

for some reason its not on Ancestry but enlarging the page on FMP its def looks like mmn isSouth

Andysmum Report 25 Nov 2012 12:50

On Free Births on Genes you can view a copy of the original, which is typed, and the mother's maiden name is quite clearly South.

It is the March Qtr. 1919, Paddington 1a 57.

EDIT I have just had a look at the FreeBMD version and agree it is more or less unreadable. Have a look at the same page on Genes. It is much better.

OK accepted.

patchem Report 25 Nov 2012 12:16

I disagree with your description of 'brick wall'.
All you have to do is to buy the birth certificate - a brick wall is when there appears to be no birth certificate.
How did you arrive at her?

Its post WW1 so its possible her mum had been married before which is why you not finding a marriage for Frearson/South

Lynne Report 25 Nov 2012 11:57

Lynne Report 25 Nov 2012 11:44

Looks like the brick wall continues.

patchem Report 25 Nov 2012 10:35

I agree with Christina.
Unfortunately cannot see any siblings to help (it is not Smith or Swain)
Second marriage of Mother?

Lynne Report 25 Nov 2012 10:35

Thanks. Have had a quick look but unable retrieve any possibilities under that surname.

ChristinaS Report 25 Nov 2012 10:11

It's certainly not clear! My guess would be South.

Any one able to assist?

Looking for ancestors of Alfreda J. Frearson b. 1919 Paddington., England

Have looked on major databases inc. FMP. Second pair of eyes appreciated.

Unable to read transcription on free bmd for mothers maiden name.
