If like me you like to post info of history on your tree, so people can see what was happening at the time, I recommend two books, ( get from library ) - Dr Johnsons London, plus Londons Lost Rivers, this also has an interesting website,+
www.derelictlondon.com inc, Railway Stations , Graveyards etc.

See also London in the Nineteenth Century (by Jerry White) as well as London in Eighteenth Century (by same author)...excellent reads. Reading the latter at the moment.
