You paid the old membership fees for being LOYAL MEMBERS so by the new all pay one price increase GR are basically saying THEY HAVE NO LOYAL MEMBERS left. If that is true who do they have to blame? & why?

BK - themsleves.

Remember this time last year - when everyone was asked to be available to Genes for a whole weekend in February................

They sure don't seem to need us now!

Out of interest I clicked on "subscribe" at the top of the page.
Standard subscription 0.83. per month. 12 months plan
Special offer 0.67p per month.
6 months plan 3 pounds per month.
Now I´m more confused than ever, but I have taken a print of the page so that when my renewal date comes up on Feb 22nd I can compare notes & if necessary argue my case.

I have just clicked on Subscribe and saw somehing quite different!!

£1.67 per month - 12 month plan

Special offer £1.33 per month.

The 6 month figure of £1.66 was crossed out.

Wisechild, I was still signed in when I looked. Were you pretending to be a new member? If so, then the rates appear to be different for everyone.

I, too, am confused!!

The lunatics have certainly taken over the asylum.
just checked again & mine still says the same thing.
Only difference I can see is that I have been a member since Jan 2007 & you since 2008.
I was signed in both times I looked.

Mine is the same as yours Andysmum due to renew 22 Feb

Alan are you looking at subscribe at the top of the page on the line where you sign out? It will only be there if your membership is due to be renewed in the next month, otherwise is will say upgrade if you are a standard member

Andysmum

Andysmum Report 27 Jan 2013 21:52

Leaving aside the special offer, if you multiply up Wisechild's it comes to £9.96 for 12 months, which I think is what the "original" members have always paid, whereas mine and Jax's come to £15.96 for 12 months, WITH the special offer. Although the 6 month option is crossed out, my renewal email (for 4 Feb) is for 6 months.

The results show on programmes like Strictly Come Dancing come to mind "In no particular order..."

Wisechild appears to have escaped the lottery...for this year!!

Re

I joined in 2004; last year and the previous year I paid £6. Utility companies would have a problem if they enforced increases of over 100%; their customers would take their custom elsewhere.

wisechild

wisechild Report 28 Jan 2013 07:18

Yes, 9.95 is what I have always paid, except in (I think)2011 when I paid 7 pounds.
We´ll see what happens when I get my renewal notification which should have come on Friday if Genes stick to their own t&cs & give 28 days notice.

I had an odd experience this year....I have auto renew but didn't get the reminder, so the first I saw was when the sub came on my credit card bill. However, it was £7.96! Seeing I was expecting £9.95 that's fine by me, but I agree with others who have posted that if it doubles, I shall probably cancel. I've been a member since 2006.

Gai Report 29 Mar 2013 07:43

Joy,

My renewal is due the 4th April and I haven't heard a word from GR.
So if they try and put up my subs I'll ask for proof they sent me an email within
the 28 days of the renewal date.

I have checked the Trash folder and there is nothing there and I haven't changed my email address. Now the waiting game commences.
