You are right though, as it does seem that GR are making up the rules as they go along. I have regularly paid $A15.96 so there hasn't been any increase for me.

So it still looks like GR are making the prices up as they go along?

You cannot guarentee it is going to cost you $A15.96 for 6 months when you next renew....mine went from £7.98 to £12 in a week, then when I complained, I got the sorry you are unhappy with the price ect ect......of course I was unhappy, I did'nt ask for a free month for WDYTYA to mess up the subs...

Email from GR states that if I switch off auto renew I will be given the option of a 12 month sub but will loose my discount which I currently receive.

So looks like I'll be sticking to a 6 month sub.

Go to "Account" top of the screen then click "subscription details" and make sure your auto renew is off otherwise you will be charged again

There's no rhyme or reason to any of it..GR are a complete shambles!

The 12 month option was never offered to me either so I have emailed support and pointed out that the next time my sub needs to be renewed I would like a 12 month option.

So looks like I'll have to wait 6 months before anything happens.

I joined in 2004....I don't ever remember being offered a twelve month subscription. I currently pay £7.98/6M which I'm ok with.

But why do some members in same position as me get twelve months for less than I am paying for six months?

My membership has renewed at the $A15.96 for the 6 months which was the same cost as in October.

I never turned off auto renew but I also never received any emails from GR telling me that my membership was about to expire or the cost.

So looks like I have dodged any subscription increase.

I have always been on a continuous Standard Membership since I joined in 2005 and I am due for renewal this month.

I have received 2 emails reminding me of my forthcoming renewal...one on the 20th March and the other dated 4th April.

My subscription for the next 12 months is £7.60 which is similar to what I paid last year though I cannot remember the actual amount.

The T&Cs say:
A continuous Standard Membership is automatically renewed every time your membership lapses and your credit card will be charged again based on the membership type you previously subscribed to. Credit card charges will be processed on the renewal date as stated in the notice of renewal sent by email to the holders of continuous Standard Membership. This notice of renewal will be sent by email 14 days before such automatic renewal. Where the Standard Membership fee is going to increase we will send you notice of renewal 28 days before such automatic renewal.

That seems to imply that you only get the 28day notice of increase if you have automatic renewal set.

If you are being offered the 6 months @ £1.33 (£7.98) when you renew in 6 months time they will tell you it is special offer of £2 pm (£12) so over the year you end up paying the full price.of £20 ish

12 months @ £1.67 per month = £20.04

6 months@ £1.33 = £7.98 (so 12 months @ £15.96)

You should have "subscribe" at the top of the page if you only have a month left??

Click on that and it will tell you what they want to charge you

I had a month's extension because I "helped" out on the WDYTYA weekend....so my subscription is now due 28 April. Haven't heard a sausage even though my auto-renew is switched off.

does any one have any more news re this??

My renewal is due the 4th April and I haven't heard a word from GR.
So if they try and put up my subs I'll ask for proof they sent me an email within
the 28 days of the renewal date.

I have checked the Trash folder and there is nothing there and I haven't changed my email address. Now the waiting game commences.
