Records online go to 2006 on FMP. The marriage should be there.

As I asked on your other thread.........where have you looked?

karen Report 22 Dec 2012 22:56

i have looked for details of marriages in northampton, as that is where it was held but there is nothing

karen Report 22 Dec 2012 23:01

whats FMP?

jax Report 22 Dec 2012 23:08

FMP is Find my past but the marriages only go up to 2005 aswell

karen Report 22 Dec 2012 23:16

it couldnt have been after 2005 as i wasntliving in northampton then

Reggie Report 22 Dec 2012 23:35

When I said where had you looked, I meant on which websites..................

BUT...there are no marriages record online after 2005........and never likely to be.

And you only 'think' your mother married in 2005, according to your first message on here

Contact the Northampton Register Office.........

Maybe her surname was misspelled - try looking for her using her forename only - specify RD=Northampton and year=2005 - there won't be too many. Ancestry lists only 24 John's.

Have sent a pm to Karen with a possible marriage (only going by the surname Karen has on here so not sure if it's the correct one).

If you want to obtain a copy, contact the General Register Office. From their website:-

Q4. If I don’t have the index reference number what will happen?
If you do not have the GRO index reference you may still apply online for any event which took place on or after 1st July 1837 to 6 months from the current date (for marriages this period is extended to 18 months) provided you have sufficient information to identify the entry. A 3 year search for the index reference will be carried out. You should supply the exact date of event if you have it. If you don't have the exact date, enter 01/01/YYYY and we will search the specified year and one year either side. If you do not provide an index reference number, your application will take up to 15 working days to process. There is a separate policy for events which have taken place in the last 50 years and full identifying information must be provided (see Q7 under “Important information on delivery times and policies.”
