You have been given the link on how to apply for the records, as your father is still living he can apply himself and will not have to pay

You will not find them online I'm affraid

Nothing much

You cannot view WW2 records...they have to be applied for...either by the man himself, or his proven next of kin

They are free to the man, or his widow.......to anyone else they cost £30.00

It does take a long time to get them. My father's took almost twelve months!

I have just applied for my fathers records and an uncle. A letter from them says that they are inundated with current welfare requests and any response will take between 9 and 12 months.

When I orderd my late fathers army records about 2 years ago it took 9 months exactly for them to arrive.

What we have to remember is that they are not there just to provide us Family Historians with records for our research. They are dealing with current work with serving servicemen & women. And as such current work takes priority, which is only to be expected.

We are all of us in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars, Oscar Wilde New avatar, my dad age about 3/4 months, could have been worse, it could have been the awful nude on a rug!!

Also are you sure about Nunn End, East London

Never heard of this place personally, and it sounds remarkably like Nunhead (which is in South London around the Peckham area)
