I am researching the Backhouse family from Evercreech, Somerset. I cannot find a marraige for William Backhouse and Hester Colston who was from Cold Ashton, Somerset. Has anyone else researched this family.

A tree on another well known site has William married twice - to Hester with children born 1842 to 1859 AND to Sarah with children 1853 &1855!! The father is living in Somerset and Yorkshire in 1841. But no marriage dates to argue about............

Thank you all for your replies. Reggie I have found your information very useful as I didin't have the names of William's parents so couldn't find his siblings. Where was this information, on the IGI? I don't seem to have much luck with the site with it's new formate, I will take another look
