Well I finally got copies of marriage certificates back for Charles Edward Lloyd( born 1901 in Walsall) I was hoping it would give me enough to get me started on that all-important 1911 census –but alas NO!
Charles Birth Cert shows him born 1901 –mother Mary but maiden name is illegible.
Charles was married twice, once in 1929 to Emma Mason, then again in 1946 to Annie Fisher.
On both cert’s it names his father as Peter Lloyd (deceased)
I can’t find any trace of likely suspects in either the 1901 or 1911.
The witness names on the certificates don’t give me any clues as none of them are Lloyds either –any suggestions please?

First of all apologies to everyone -I put the query up then the dogs mugged me and forced me into abandoning the computer and taking them for a walk.

I don't know how you searched or what database you used but you've definitely found them for me.
Yes it does look like Mary's name was Shaw.
