Gedcom finally imported but its a mess

I am not happy could not import a new gedcom last week as there was a problem on here ,finally managed it today and its a mess???My grandfather born in 1899 and died in 1924 is now married to my cousins husband , and his father is Rachel ??? |

Gedcom file transfers are not a precise as many think and transfer failures can happen Dates containing separator characters such as / - = * etc seem prone to this so it is best to stick with formats such as 22 May 1957. |

When I transferred my tree from here to Ancestry, I lost 10-15 people. |

thanks for your replies I always put dates as ie 22 May 1821 I dont put / I have this tree on Ancestry and its fine on there I also have it on a FTM programme and Tribal Pages and its fine there too . |

For what its worth I have just uploaded my tree from my FTM program and all went ok. Took 13 minutes end to end and on checking the results, no obvious errors so far. |

Probably best to delete the tree you are trying to replace before importing a new Gedcom. |
