View details on someone else's tree

Look on the right side of the opened tree page you will two "arrows" look like these << click on those the side panel opens to show details etc. |

I have been given permission to view someone else's tree, below each name on their tree it says 'details' and 'copy' but neither seems to do anything for me, so I am not able to view any details such as birthplace, marriage date etc |
