Member Since: August 2009 Posts: 162 Send Message	hi all.. i hava a Jacob Caldwell born 1905 married in 1929 but it states his wife to be as Mary j Carruthers or Symington. Have tried to find Mary J using both names but no luck... any help would be greatly appreciated... :-)

	So she was evidently a Carruthers who was previously married to a Symington or vice versa. Look for a Carruthers/Symington marriage with a first name Mary J.

	There are 6 Caldwell births with MMN Symington in Newcastle-on-Tyne between 1931-1946. So her maiden name was evidently Symington and she was previously married to a Carruthers.

	Do you know of any children born of the marriage? Freebmd shows possible births of offspring with each of those surnames as mother's maiden name, but one looks more likely than the other. Do you know when Mary died? If it was after 1969, her birthdate should show on her death registration. Gwyn

	Uh oh! There were also 2 Caldwell births in Newcastle with MMN Carruthers in 1930 and 1933.

	Looks more like a Carruthers.. Births Jun 1906 Carruthers Mary Jane Gateshead 10a 1012
