When I click on purple number by a person name and try to view tree matches nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Any help appreciated.

Not sure what you are doing but you cant see peoples tree unless they have opened it to you.

To see if anyone has match use Search Trees which is under Search heading above the boards If you find a match you can contact tree holder for further info. Delete out the automated message that asks to see their tree and put in your own enquiry.

I wont open my own tree unless i am sure there is a def family match .

If you click on the purple number, you get a pop-up thingy which says record matches and tree matches. If you want to see the tree matches, you click there and it will give you a list of people with that person in their tree in another window, not on the same page where your tree is open.
You won't be able to see the trees themselves.

Sorry to seem dim, but when I click on tree matches after pop ups come up can't see any other names. Where is the other window? Have tried several names in my tree.

Hmm I guess it may depend what browser you use. I can only explain what I see, maybe someone else can help more. I use Firefox.
If now I go to the top of the page and click on 'Family Tree' -< 'My Tree', then my tree opens in another 'tab' so I have two pages open, one with this thread on it and another which shows my tree.
When I go to someone in my tree and click on the purple number, then I get Record matches and Tree matches. Clicking on Tree matches, the list of people with that ancestor in their tree will open not on the tree page, but on THIS page.
(If you only have one tree match, that is with yourself ,so nothing will happen.)

It's a bit difficult to describe but I hope this may help! If you don't use Firefox you will probably have to wait for someone else to lend a hand :)

Check whether another window has opened and gone straight to the bar at the bottom of your screen, it does that with mine sometimes.
