Thanks both for your help I did not think that Rosa would still be alive, I will look at 192. Re Italian Family story Society sites I will google them. I belong to a couple of FHS in England so should have thought of searching in that way.

Have you tried any of the Italian Family History sites yet? I have found them very helptul at times. Just Google as there are more than one.

On 192.com it looks as though their son Michael, and possibly his mother, live in Brighton.

Thanks for your help yes I have the marriage certificate, which 9 Aug 1958 at Coventry Registrar Office, it was first marriages for both This is how I knew the father's occupation.

Rosa gives her address as "The Grange, Brownshill Keresley her occupation was House Mother at A Children's home so I presume the address she gave was of where she worked.

I think John died in 2007 - I think it was Surrey which I found when I looked at the up-to-date microfilm at Westminster archives. I have only bought a cert when I have the GRO reference so I think I will have to go there again and check their reference and look for
Rosa' s death and maybe sent for the certs.. The witness are just F W S Hopkins and F W Hopkins. I have researched the Moody side of the family extensively and these names are not from there The witnesses could be the owners/managers of the Home.

Thanks for looking - I did not know if there as a particular Italian site I could search.

Hi Lesley.

to be honest I am struggling to find any records for Alterini in the UK apart from the marriage of Rosa. I tried familysearch.org but the nearest name I could find in Italy was Alterisio...will go back for another look..

Nothing coming up for this family in Ancestry.com

Presuming she married in England, her marriage cert will tell he fathers name, also witnesses name might be good
was it her first marriage? unusual at 40 years of age

Hi,

I have this person in ,my family who married in 1958 to a John Francis Moody who I have managed to research however as I think Rosa was born in Italy (her father was Luigi Alterini - occupation Head Station Master, Italian Railways).I am rather stuck. I cannot find Rosa's death but think if it was in England it was after the 2005/6 records on line or maybe she returned to Italy.

I would be grateful if anyone could suggest how I could find out more about her.

Thanks
