Doesn't it say on his death certificate?

If it was an unusual death, it may be in local newspapers.

Do you mean you have found his death registration? If so you will need to purchase the certificate from GRO

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

It will cost £9.25

His death certificate will give you lots of information

1: Where he died - age he was when he died (where he was born ? this used to be on certs)

2: his home address - useful if he died in hospital - or if in a nursing home you can contact them for help

3 Name of person registering his death - if yiou are lucky a family member such as a Wife or child.

Buy the death cert...............it will include info about cause of death

The info about birthplace is on death certs AFTER 1969.....not sure why the poster above says it 'used to be' on certs

'Cos I was not too sure!!! And I could not be bothered to dig out any old ones. Surely the question mark and it being in brackets was a hint that I was not 100% certain!
