I am researching my Fahey side of the family. Some of them left Ireland for Australia, and some came on to New Zealand. I would like a heads up on how I can track any remaining members of this family.

Just googling the title to confirm Gort is in Ireland and came across this. Have you seen it?

You haven't said which era you are interested in. Teresa's thread might give you a few more ideas for sites you could explore.

You could use the 'Seach All Trees' facility on this site to see if anyone has 'your' names listed and make contact.

If you think anyone has kept your surname(s) of interest try the online phone books for Ireland eg

Sorry I should have put some dates in. I have a Thomas Fahey (Fahy?) born in 1837 in Dunally apparently on the family farm, and in the parish of Peterswell. He emigrated in 1859 to Australia. He had a brother Jack who stayed in Australia but a sister, Bridget, also arrived in NZ and married Michael Kearney, whose sister, Mary, married Thomas.
The ship Thomas arrived in was 'The King of Italy' in 1861 to Otago, NZ.

I am hoping someone might recognise this family.

Have you looked in 'search all trees'

That's the place to find links on this site..........

There appears to be at least one other person with Thomas in a GR tree..........
