There is this possible death:-

Name: HARRISON, Samuel
Registration district: Basford
County: Nottinghamshire
Year of registration: 1931
Quarter of registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
Age at death: 71
Volume no: 7B
Page no: 212

or this one if the 1911 census for Barnsley is the right one and he stayed there:-

Name: HARRISON, Samuel
Registration district: Barnsley
County: Yorkshire
Year of registration: 1916
Quarter of registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
Age at death: 55
Volume no: 9C
Page no: 277

Remember that the age given on a death certificate is only as accurate as the informant's knowledge.

I don't think that can be the right death for Samuel as in the 1911 census Sarah Jane says she is married not a widow.

The death certificate would only name his wife if she was the informant.

Wow aren't these census interesting, thinking about Samuel disappearing thought I would look at Freebmd deaths and found a Samuel Harrison died mar qtr 1907 Basford registration district for Hucknall Torkard this seems more likely than him running off to London and age fits would the death cert have his wife's name on it ?

On the image for the 1911 census it says that Charles's 17 year old brother Albert Edward has been a cripple for 11 years.

Sarah Jane has had 7 children to this marriage. 5 still living and 2 have died.

Thank you for the extra info, we heard that Samuel left his family for London but we weren't sure if that's true this story has a but of intrigue but as you have shown me he wasn't with them in 1911
