tracing Jersey Ancestry

trying to trace parentage of my great grandfather born St Helier Jersey born 17 DEC 1847 name of HENRY STEPHENS . He joined Royl Navy as boy sailor(Crewman). how can I get records without travelling to JERSEY please help :-|

Hello Christopher - not unless you say who he was!

There is a lady called Jersey Lily who helps on the boards (although I don't think she's on here every day) she would be able to advise.

Do you want to post some details?

Name and birth year are essential

IF he knew his father, the details should be on his marriage cert
