How sure are you of her name and year of birth? There don't appear to be any Lily Ellis reg 1899-1902 in the Edmonton reg district. |

Did she marry? If you have her marriage certificate, that ought to give her father's name. We can then hope to find her on the 1901 census if born before April, or the 1911. |

Enfield might be a red herring, although not a million miles away. |

There is this Lily in 1911 - William says he is married, has been for 4 years and there have been 4 children from the marriage, all still living. So, either those children are elsewhere with their mother or the 3 on the census were born before the marriage. There is also a possible marriage of William to an Alice Chapman: |

Me thinks my Lily may have been using different second names. The Moree record definitely looks like her and Jax the shipping record looks promising. Thanks everyone for your help and good luck with YOUR search. Ta, Gwen |

Yes she only used those names for the 1980 ER not on any of the others....so I think you will find she was born Lily Mary Florence Chapman and her mother was Alice Chapman (un married)...whether Alice at somepoint married someone called Ellis?? not found one so far, but that does'nt mean she did'nt |
