To Everyone Who Has Replied

I have used Family Search for past 8yrs & in the beginning was great! Found heaps of stuff............now not so.....
I miss IGI as well.............whats happened to that?

What i have noticed is using the 'normal' Family Search have noticed where on the Home Page says Discover Your Family History........Records Genealogies Catalog & Books
There was a heading that said 'TREES'
has anyone else noticed it's not there now. :-(

Sorry I misunderstood. That is the url for the old family search which works fine.

What is the advantage of using the new one rather than the old please?

I can't get in with my registration either despite being a long-term indexer. I would love to see what is new and different. Patience!

Starting in February 2011, the new FamilySearch website welcomes a few public users. More public users will be invited in the future.

General public. Look for a future announcement when you will have access to new.familysearch.org.•

Use of the system by the public is very limited. The account that you use for other FamilySearch websites might not yet be authorized to use the system.

For the past few days, no matter what I ask to look for, I get a message "no records found".
This is rubbish because Familysearch is where I got the info from in the first place.

I have just sent them a message hope to hear from them soon.
As for visiting FS ....i have done a few years back...but the Church members have right of way first to any research regardless, so after a few visits gave up...............
As for the phone call.........i'll give that a miss i'm in Aust.

Just thinking aloud.

In light of BeverleyW thoughts, might you have to go to a FH centre to be able to access it?
I'd registered to be able to view a record set of familysearch, but still wasn't able to access them After a series of emails, they said that was what I had to do. (haven't bothered so don't know if that's correct)

There is a 'contact us' link on the home page for newfamilysearch which takes you here

They don't work Sundays.

They assured me that the number given was freephone from this side of the Atlantic.

Thanks for that still no luck though........

I am pretty sure that at present you cannot get into Newfamilysearch unless you are a member of their church. It's not open to the public at large yet.

i have signed up for the 'new family search'....says not up and running..................
