What sort of date Karen?

There was possibly a family plot in a churchyard....maybe unmarked. Records will be with the church or nearest archive.

Cemetery plots may be listed online in a nearby cemetery site or will be with the local council ( parks section I think ) and they may be willing to check their records. They may or may not charge for this.

Would you like to tell us who and where you are looking?

Southampton has good computerised records... I have contacted them myself in the past.
I have also previously contacted the crematorium to see if my relative was cremated there. As they were not, I don't know if they also hold records of what happened to any ashes, but I do know that another south coast Hampshire crematorium will even print out a little map of their Garden of Remembrance so that one can find the location where ashes were placed.
