You might be able to copy and paste the 'list view' into a word document. You'd then be able to manually type in the extra detail. You could also think about printing off the 'Profile' for each person

It sounds as if you are at the stage where you'd be better off with an off-line tree programme which can generate 'Reports'. There are a number available such as Family Tree Maker, Family Historian, Roots Magic to name but 3. There are also free downloads you can access. Just make an internet search for "free family tree programmes"

On freebmd - have a look at the image to check that the spelling is correctly transcribed from the list. You can also plough through the images on there to check each page.
If there has been an error at the transcribing stage on Freebmd, you can submit a correction.

For instance,

Click on the glasses to eventually get to the image.

If it has been transcribed incorrectly, click on the ‘info’ from the search results.

Click the *here* word, read the text and complete the form. There is a tick box you have to check amongst the directions, so make sure you read them thoroughly and ‘tick’ it.

If the transcription is correct, then you can add a ‘Post’em’ to record the alternative spelling.

The purple star is in YOUR tree,

The GR tree attempts to link the data entered by the tree owner to other trees on GR and data held on GR's sister site "Findmypast" Highlighted by the purple star and relies on accurate input of that data, If a name spelling does not march then you will not get the result as expected, That's one of the biggest problems with GR,
Also searches on most sites rely on the record being accurate transcribed, That's why sites like freebmd are often better for searches due to it giving search results that take into account forename variation and also allowing you the option of Phonetic searching surnames

3) I expected to find my brother via the purple star display with a recored match. Using the normal search on births it cannot find him. I tried the Free Birth record search and this let me look at the range of names/date on the BMD records, so I have found him and attached.So to me it suggests all the names in the BMD list have not been migrated over.

) Yes you can apply for anyone's birth cert- but please dont do it to ''have some fun''.Seems a little unkind.

If you can find the details of his birth then so can anyone else- you cant hide amything in the public records/ Whay info you choose to record and distribute is up to you.

At my Mother-In-Laws funeral was only 2 weeks ago I gained a very detailed family tree (her side) that is now 133 strong and entered on the web site and goes back to 1600s! It was given to me to try and pass on to the extended family. I have a number of questions and have started to discover some skeletons in the cupboard in the current time as well!

1) I would like to trace back further my mother-in laws side, as I have linked back and attached to her parents marriage and birth certificates (with refs). What & how do I get a copy to find confirm parents births and their parents (b 1890-1910) and what is the cost?

2) I have found a cousin's birth record, which is not as expected, compared to his mums marriages. He could be adopted, born out of marriage, but as we are his only living relatives now, we could have some fun when he passes away! We only see him at funerals now so it would be a interesting topic to raise with him. Can a person request a birth certificate of a living relative? Or is their a way to hide data I have found, ie give the extended family access to a copy without some links and detail.

3) My own brother is registered with a completely different spelt 1st name, I found it via a Free BMD search on site, but site cannot find in the tree display search. How do I report them to get in sync?

4) As I start to add more detail can you export or print a single summary of all data enter, ie the list view but with all that extra detail.

Finally this has consumed my interest for last week and I cannot believe the speed and access to data. Good examples was to find a new ancestor via the 1841 census, more detail in a 1911 census of children who had died and discovered on google that a visit to that house in 1911 was now a Morrisons Superstore, saved everyone a wasted visit. It would have been excellant on a Who Do You Think you are, epsiode This is Good Stuff and I have only just started as my family have relatives in Hungary, Australia and Canada!! that I am about to research.
