Hi all,

I applied for a copy birth cert. on 25th Feb and have still not received it - I was wondering whether any other folk were finding the service slow at the moment. ?

it can take three or four weeks sometimes.

Is this GRO? What was the estimated date of despatch? Bear in mind they send by 2nd class post within the UK.

If you haven't received it by say Thursday, then it might be worth phoning gro to see if/when it was despatched.

Yes it is GRO and I don't think it's taken this long before.

You should have received a GRO confirmation email - it includes details including a despatch date (estimated). I ordered one on 5th March without the GRO reference it shows despatch of 27th March - estimated (takes longer obviously). I am currently waiting for one ordered on 18th February (after 9 pm) - estimated despatch 12th March - also without references. If you ordered yours with GRO reference, it should be quicker.

With refs are currently being despatched within a week. I ordered one yesterday (9th), Estimated despatch date - 15th.

Without refs, your application takes up to 15 days to process.

If not received after at least 5 working after the Edd then report non-delivery and they will send you a replacement. To do this you use the on-line enquiry / complaint form and select 'Certificate not received' under the heading 'Details of your complaint' All problems need to be reported within three months.

I got an email confirmation from 'world pay' stating the date and time of receipt of order and stating "GRO has received the order" - but don't recall getting an email from GRO.

It's 10 working days now; I will wait until next week and fill in form as suggested.

Fingers xxx that it'll arrive in the post tomorrow.

You should get two emails - one from Worldpay confirming the payment and that the order has been processed, and one from the GRO confirming the order has been received by them.

Mine yesterday arrived within less than a minute of each other.

I only got the one from worldpay so have sent in an enquiry.

I don't know what they meant by COL number on the form :/

As IGP says you get two emails - and they do arrive almost simultaneously. The subject line for the GRO email is " GRO Order Confirmation" and it details the information shown on the final screen once you have completed your order with GRO.
