:-( I don't use FMP so looks like I miss this one. Sounds like a great resource though, hopefully it will be added on here soon :-)

I am quite new to all of this, am I allowed to ask if you all subscribe to lots of sites? I'm not looking for recommendations, costs or anything like that, just out of curiosity as at the moment I'm more than happy with GR!

Thanks,
Sharon

Most of the people who help out on the boards also subscribe to either Ancestry, or Findmypast and if feeling flush, both!

Each have their strengths and weaknesses as does GR and compliment each other.

All these sites including GR hold census 1841-1911 and the gro index. They each have other records unique to themselves. It really depends on your area of research for you to decide if one is preferable to another.

You can usually look at their databases without subscribing, or make 'free' searches, then ask on here for a look-up if you think the results might be relevant.

It's always worth googling the area + parish records as there may be free resources on the net.

Always consider
