Hi All
Wasn't there at one time message boards for each surnames, so as you could put a message on here for people to find who were researching the same name as you?
Has that disappeared as a feature?
I put a message on here last night, and it doesn't seem to come up if I do a search on the names, so where did it go?

There WAS a surname board.......................many moons ago

If you've posted a thread, you can find it by looking under TOOLS.........in My threads.

Hi Reggie
That isn't what I mean, I can find it OK in my Threads,
I titled it "Looking for Kibbey/Kebby in or around Bristol."
But if I go to find my Ancesters and put in either name my message doesn't come up.

I suspect the reason it doesn't come up is that it looks for names surrounded by a space. In your post you have a slash between the two names with no space at the end of one and the start of the other. Other occurences have a full stop at the end.

Unfortunately you can't put non alphanumeric characters in the search box.

Try editing your post to have spaces between the names and see if it gets found.

The three surname boards became one as "Find Ancestors"
Go to "Advanced Search" enter "Kebby" and your post and others appear.
Edit
Also under "Kibbey"

Just did a search on Advanced search, I put only Kebby in the search box and selected the "Find Ancestors" board from the dropdown and here it is:

Did you select which board to search?

Hi Harmony,

I think most people now look in the Search All Trees facility (under Search above) to find out if they have connections on this site. Cx

I don't know what you're doing when using advanced search.............

I think MC hit the nail on the head Reggie.

I often forget to ensure which board I am checking when using Advanced Search. It was much easier when it covered ALL the boards.

Since Harmonyb edited the post to show Kibbey and Kebby as separate names, it shows up on Quicksearch which confirms what I suspected.
