George_of_Westbury Report 26 Mar 2013 13:56

This is a new one on me, but i have just found a marriage of a Charles Crick to a Douglas Ogden Roobottom in 1861, for a minute i thought it could be the first same sex marriage, but having googled, females did have the name Douglas in the 17th &18th centuries, although this marriage is in the 19th century

You learn something everyday.

Link to the BMD index

Also on Ancestery is the marriage certificate on West Yorkshire marriages.

And Pink was originally for boys and Blue for girls

And Florence was orginally a boys name.
