I think I may have found the reason for this. Up until thiw weekend I have been adding spouse, parents, children from the actual link on the tree and never had a problem.

this weekend I noticed that you can add the additions on the box on the right where you add specific dates, marriages and notes.

This is where I have added the relations to that particular person and seems to conincide when I had the duplications.

I can't see any reason why this would have happened as why would it be there if it corrupts your tree if you add any that way?

Some of them have allowed me to delete them, however others will not give me the option.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Thanks - I thought that would be the case which is why I thought of this forum.

I am having to remove them manually but the problem is there are others attached to them

Not sure how I have managed to do this - note to self - don't do any work on family history if tired :)

Thanks for the reply. I have emailed support. Still waiting for a reply. Probably stumped them too.

As for your standard advice this is what I thought too. Not a chance. lol.

I would delete them if I could find them. Very frustrating and now time consuming when I can be getting down to more research.

You probably need to get in touch with genes support.

Or, standard advice, log out, switch off, count up to 10, go to bed, switch on again in the morning, and the problem may have disappeared.

If not, then contact genes support.

Can anyone help me. I seem to have duplicated some members names on my tree. I can find the duplications in the surnames summary part however when I try to locate them on the tree only one comes up.
