Sometimes there is a delay because the customer support team are getting a second opinion from another member of staff.
This thread is being looked at.

I would love to know what reason was given as to why the posts were removed....I saw nothing wrong with them

Maybe they did'nt come accross as friendly enough????

Someone goes on to Genes FB page and slags a members comment off on a thread...naming her

She then makes a comment about hearing about this....post rr'd and removed

I am wondering who was asked for the 2nd opinion

Just a thought. When a post is removed would it be possible to replace it with a reason for example:-

post removed because it breached item 5 of the T & C's

At least then we can have a look and see in a bid to understand why a particular post is removed. Then perhaps we can all learn by mistakes of others instead of being left to repeat the offense.

One of my posts was one of those RR'd on that thread on Living Relatives mentioned by Jax in her post at 15:48.

That post was noted as under review from sometime late on Saturday evening May 18 until some time this afternoon ................ I received an email from GR regarding it that was sent shortly after 4 pm UK time

I do not believe that the post transgressed any T&Cs, because everything in it was factual ............. but this is what I was told ..................

This email also provided the text for the post in question.


I received another email about 90 minutes later, which did not contain the text of the post, but said I had transgressed the same T&C rule ............


I can only hope that the second email is for the same "transgression".

GR cannot stop us from recommending a company that many members know perform service above and beyond ..............

................... and cheaper.


that would be denial of our rights to free speech ............ and to competition.


I cannot understand why they did not look at Genealogy Printers .............. after all Ron has been a loyal member of GR for many years.

So many times does this problem have to be logged before anything is done as I must have 100's logged.

Hi ladies,

Of course you can still recommend Genealogy Printers. We had discussions with many printing agencies, including Genealogy Printers. However My History were the only company to offer the best discount for our members. We also really liked the printed trees that they showed to us.

hi Natasha,
I was on a good roll yesterday with searching the record's,i have gold membership.

I was so annoyed when I was at the most critical time of searching my hit's,yes I kept getting thrown out by the dreaded ERROR message.
nothing seem's to sort this out,
what I would like on the board's etc is to be able to sit down for a good gossip with other board member's or to search the record's which you are charging me for.
at the moment I have to keep going to other site's to view the record's I have found as genes keep's telling me ERROR.
if these error's are logged and people have paid for a service which they cannot access,why do you not get any explanation or compensation -- maybe free credit's.

Maybe when contact is made or a problem reported it all depends on who you are

So, if you are in with the management team, your query/problem is dealt with as a matter of urgency, the rest of us can go hang.... ;-)

Hi Martyn & GlitterBaby, if you could let me know the time you saw the error messages and the sections of the site they appeared in, I can look into it. We did experience some site problems on Monday and the team are monitoring site performance.

J Near M3 Jct4, I opened my post with ‘Hi Ladies’ because I was responding to the queries of two ladies.

DazedConfused, I cannot see a query from you that I haven’t responded to. If you could please remind me I’ll get back to you.
