Is this Elizabeth's arrival?

New South Wales, Australia, Assisted Immigrant Passenger Lists, 1828-1896

Name: Elizabeth Mulholland
Birth Year: abt 1821
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Arrival Date: 18 Jan 1842
Vessel Name: Agnes Ewing
Origin Location: Stratane, County Tyrone, Ireland (Strabane)

Her parents were James and Isabella Powell, both alive.

She was age 21 and had no children with her. She was a domestic and farm servant.

She was brought out by a George Townsend. Her state of bodily health was said to be good and she was "likely to be useful". There's a note scrawled that says something like "engaged as housekeeper at xxxx Maitland".

Her religion was CoE and she could read and write.

Must be her husband on the same ship:

New South Wales, Australia, Assisted Immigrant Passenger Lists, 1828-1896

Name: John Mulholland
Birth Year: abt 1820
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Arrival Date: 18 Jan 1842
Vessel Name: Agnes Ewing
Origin Location: Cookltown, County Tyrone, Ireland

There's a lot of scrawl I can't make out.

His parents were Henry and Elizabeth Mulholland, still alive.

He could read and write and was CoE religion.

His calling was agriculturist and something in Royal Engineers.

He was also considered to be useful. George Townsnd was the person who brought him to Australia.

If these are the right people then I'll send the original images by pm tonight (off to work now).

Have sent pm to Cindy asking her to check if this is the right arrival before unearthing other possible records.

Also need to know the source of the middle name of Rebecca.

From Trove http://trove.nla.gov.au/

Sydney Morning Herald, 08 July 1897

MULHOLLAND.- July 7, at her son's residence, 7 Junction-street, Forest Lodge, Elizabeth Rebecca Mulholland, widow of the late John Mulholland, of Sydney, aged 82 years.

That implies a birth year of 1815 which doesn't tie in with the 1842 arrival.

Thank you Marie - yes this the right arrival. Arrival Date: 18 Jan 1842
Vessel Name: Agnes Ewing :-)

Thanks for confirming that Cindy.

When you say you're "looking for information" could you let us know what you already have and what you're trying to find? For example, if you know when/where they died, details of their children etc (just so we don't go finding what you've already found!)

Are you trying to trace the Irish ancestry?

There's no mention of the middle name of Rebecca on her arrival - do you know where that came from? (There's a few Elizabeth Mulhollands so don't want to mix them up).

Yes I am trying to trace the Irish ancestry. Thanks :-)
