I have to congratulate Genes for finding another piece of my jigsaw puzzle. I've been searching (not this site) for ages for my gt, gt, grandmother. I've found everything after 1851, but no marriage, so couldn't get further back. Genes have found me a 1841 census with her living with a family at 15 years old. When I looked for this on my other site, the family were there, but not my relative. I looked at the original and there she was. she has been missed out on that index and I would never have found her. Well done Genes.

Just goes to prove - always look at the original!

As you've discovered, transcriptions do vary from site-to-site. If you (or other people on your behalf) can't find it on one, it is worth looking on another. :-)

I found that with my husbands grandmother, she was not transcribed on the 1911...it took a couple of attemps to get her put on when I contacted FMP so now she is also showing on Genes also.

At that time Ancestry did not hold the 1911 records so had nothing else to compare it with

Curiosity - so good to read something positive about GR. I also found several records I hadn't find elsewhere that had got me stumped :-D :-D :-D

Thank you NanaSue for your comments. I give credit when it's due. However, I have to admit I find this site hard to use..
