Hi there, can anyone help This gentleman was a commander on HMS Picotee, between Sep 1940 to abt june/july 1941. (she was sunk on 12/8/1941) My grandfather served on this ship from when she was launched and have been desperately trying to trace a crew photo, there must be one somewhere.
Scallan was not serving on the Picotee when she was sunk with all hands, I know he survived the war, and wondered if anyone knows of any of his decendants that I might be able to contact, regarding his naval carrer or photos of him, and hope against hope they may have been handed down a crew photo of Picotee.
If anyone can help with any info, I would be most grateful. Thank you in anticiapation :-)

Wow, thanks everyone, for your replies, I did a bit of research and found he was born in India. and he served in merchant navy prior to Royal Navy.
He served on another RN ship.
I did also find a marriage, but as you say no death record, perhaps he died overseas, highly likely these days.
Also I could find no children on a very quick search the other day, but working all sorts of shifts at mo, so not had a lot of time.
And yes HMS Picotee website does belong to me, have done a lot of research on her and would dearly love a photo of all crew. I am currently writing a book of her and the crew. so again if anyone knows of any familes of her crew members that would be fantastic. I am in contact with some. I have some time off soon, so will have to pop to kew!!!
