Welcome to the site, Joanne

Short answer ............. not until some time in 2021

That's because the 1911 Census is the latest one that is available.

The UK has a 100 year ban on release of census results ........ so the 1921 will not be released to the public until 2021.

Ant it may in fact be 2022 before we can in fact see it ....................... the census material will be released IN 20121 to a company for transcribing, and it depends how long it takes said company to do the work.

The 1911 census was released on the 1911census site in 2011, but it took another 6 months before FMP carried it, and late in 2011 before ancestry had it.

GR began to carry the FMP version in early 2012, I believe.

The 1921 census hasn't been released, there is some doubt too that it will be online due to the costs involved ,

quote
The ruling by the Information Commissioner that resulted in the 1911 census being opened early does not apply to the 1921 census because, unlike the 1911 census, the 1921 census was conducted under the 1920 Census Act, which is still in force and which contains a statutory prohibition on disclosure.

The stated government position from the ONS is "its intention to release the entirety of the 1921 census returns in 2022, in accordance with the non-statutory '100 year rule' which was adopted to reflect this undertaking of confidentiality".

Hi Joanne - we all share your sentiment and all wish we could get our hands on that census, would answer a lot of questions.

What we have to do is look for possible births marriages and deaths on the indices and then order the relevant certificates from GRO http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ it will cost you the Aus equivalent of £9.25.

If there's anyone in particular you're stuck with then why not post details (being mindful of the privacy of anyone still alive) and we'll do our best to help you find the records.
