Electoral Registers

ProfilePosted byOptionsPost Date

Please could anyone tell me if there is a way to trace ancestors both between censuses and after 1911. Thinking of electoral registers but wondered if these are on line for these dates or do we have to visit the record offices.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Marilyn :-)

There are some on ancestry, for instance

Some directories are online, can be found by googling, and on CDs

Otherwise, it would be visiting records offices or libraries.

Happy hunting.

Thanks Joy, I will have a look, seem to remember looking at some electoral registers some time ago when I went to Manchester Library. :-)

Try searching for Street Directories on line - Kellys is one which springs to mind.
This site isn't bad, but only has selected coverage and decades

Ancestry also have phone books British Phone Books, 1880-1984
