There is a survey that you can take to say how much you like it and why.

KempinaPartyhat Report 16 May 2013 20:46

I did the survey but the problem is once they change things it never goes back!!!!!!!

The main problem I have with the new version is that all of a sudden it won't copy and paste in a block but ends up with the text strung out with huge gaps between the lines.

Worked fine before.

The little torn peice of paper icon dissapeared a couple of weeks ago, so c&p was a nightmare...but returned after a couple of days

Hopefully it will return again

I'm having the problem with the torn paper (Compatability view). Sometimes works, but not today. Have had to edit out all the spaces in postings. :-S

Also had messages saying that items removed from home page. Home page not available etc.

With regards to the OP, are we sure that it has changed recently? As far as I know the 'New Search' option has been around for well over a year now, if not longer.

Personally I don't like it and prefer to use the 'Old Search' layout.

You can switch between the two but the option is not easy to spot.

1. Move your mouse over the Search button in the navigation bar. In the menu that appears, click on the Search All Records option.

2. In the page that loads, follow the navigation bar all the way to the right. You should see a link that says Go to Old Search or Go to New Search just below the navigation bar. Click on that to switch between the two.

3. The chosen search type will then load by default across the entire site.

IGP

The format changed over night on the 15th May. Of course it has changed before over the years, but this change is awful

From the search results page:

'The search results page is faster and has a new look and feel. Tell us what you think.'

I've told them what I think!

Kemp, you're right, we can tell them what we think, but it will make no difference.

The UK site is OK, are you using another? May be they are making the dreaded 'new look' change :-0

Gai

Gai Report 17 May 2013 07:29

Gins,

I was on the OZ site and the new changes had already happened.

I like the way the OZ site is set out even though I subscribe through the UK site.

Kense

Kense Report 17 May 2013 07:37

Did I imagine it or is the old search format option being withdrawn on May 31?

Edited to avoid confusion - It is the Old Viewer option that is being withdrawn on May 31.

Gai Report 17 May 2013 07:37

We are special here in Oz. Lol!

Gai Report 17 May 2013 07:41

KenSe,

I remember reading the old search was going but I don't recall the date that was mentioned.

Edited: Just found on an image on the Uk size when you switch to the old viewer and there is a message up the top to say viewer unavailable after 31st may.

How strange - At the moment Anc with me appears unchanged. I can switch easily between the new and old search. Oh well fingers crossed that it continues

Gins? It's your age dear one. You just can't accept change - it happens with older folk so I'm told.... :-D

I've just had a look and it's a bit different but okay by me. Some of us actually need a Janet and John version remember....... ;-)

As with changes on here, you will have forgotten all about it in a few weeks' time and just accept it as normal.

Now off you go, and do some work.

:-D
