Genes have said they have no objection to other sites being named as long as Genes arent unfavorable being compared to the site.

Looks as though someone doesn't know that we are allowed to mention the word 'Ancestry' as long as we don't criticise GR in the process.

Maybe it should be put in large print somewhere?

There seems to be some confusion re what might be withdrawn on the 31st May. Is it the image Viewer or the Old Search option?

As far as what supposed to have happened on the 15th May I haven't seen it yet, and I use the site almost daily.

Perhaps someone could explain the steps which give rise to the new 'look and feel' message, as I can't find it.

I have only ever used the new search on ancestry...but it was nothing like it is now.

Just been looking for two family marriages from the 1940s and 50s put in the correct names for bride and groom...neither came up on ancestry?? had to find them on FMP instead

It seems to have been reported at about 3 o'clock which is within a couple of minutes of Mr Magoo's Paddy joke being reported.

I have switched my old search back on and it looks just like it always has. I like the new image viewer and have been using it a while.

Very unimpressed - haven't logged in to GR for a while and now all my family data has disappeared. As I have been a member for 10 years, there were a significant number of connections, now apparently all lost. I have requested support but I may also seek compensation for the loss. :-(

Did you let your subscription lapse? If so, the records you attached will be hidden. You still ought to be able to see the timeline on the relatives profile page, with the outline details listed.

Ah! Re-read your post. You are referring to GR. Try turning the compatibility on/off. There were reported problems some time ago, some of them traced back to an upgrade of one version of IE to another.
Documents will be found in your Keepsafe - again, if you used credits to attach them, or a Platinum membership, they might have disappeared if you are now on a lower sub package. Images bought with credits have a short shelf life unless you download them to your computer.

Better check the terms and conditions first:

"We do not accept any liability for:

any damage to your computer, any software or for any loss of data that results from your use of the Genes Reunited Service;"

"Our liability to you for any loss or damage in connection with these Terms shall be limited to the greater of:

(a) the Standard Membership fee where you are a fully paid Standard Member;
(b) the Gold Membership fee where you are a fully paid Gold Member;
(c)the Platinum Membership fee where you are a fully paid Platinum Member; or
(d) the sums paid by you to us under these Terms during the 12 months prior to the date when liability arises."
